The city's motto, "Where Yesterday Welcomes Tomorrow," encapsulates its unique blend of rich history and forward-looking spirit.
Founded in 1830, Thibodaux is blessed by the presence of the beautiful Bayou Lafourche, gracefully winding through the downtown area. Moss-laden oaks, plantation homes, and expansive fields of sugar cane contribute to the city's picturesque landscape. A journey down Canal Boulevard offers a glimpse into the past, with well-preserved antebellum homes dating back to the 19th century lining both sides of the highway.
