The Lafourche Parish School System has eight K -12 public schools in the Thibodaux area. They are :
Chackbay Elementary, Bayou Boeuf Elementary, W.S. Lafargue Elementary, C.M. Washington Elementary, Thibodaux Elementary, Sixth Ward Middle, Thibodaux Middle, and Thibodaux High School.
Thibodaux Area Private Schools include: ELearning K12, St. Genevieve Catholic Elementary, St. Joseph Catholic Elementary, and E.D. White Catholic High School.
Charter Schools in the Community include Max Charter School, Bayou Community Academy, and the Virtual Academy of Lafourche.
